Did Celtics Guard Isaiah Thomas Try To Recruit DeMarcus Cousins To Boston?

It’s been a rough couple of days for Kings center DeMarcus Cousins. Sacramento coach George Karl reportedly really wants to ship Cousins out of town. Karl is apparently recruiting players and front-office members to unite and convince owner Vivek Ranadive that Cousins needs to go.

Basically, Boogie needs love. The All-Star center would certainly be a hot commodity if he hit the trade market, but before he that, he decided to take a little vacation. Cousins posted a picture on his Instagram of a nice dinner on the beach with the caption “Meanwhile… Good Vibes.”

One of his former teammates saw this post and decided to do a little recruiting. Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas played in Sacramento from three seasons with Boogie in Sacramento, and wants the two to reunite in Boston.

The Celtics are reportedly one of the teams that really wants to bring in Cousins, and even though they haven’t been able to pull off a deal yet, Boston’s going to work to make a trade happen.

From a basketball standpoint, Cousins would be a great piece for the Celtics to build around. While Tyler Zeller, Kelly Olynyk and Jared Sullinger are all fine big men, Cousins would be a major upgrade over all of them. He’d also immediately become the best center in the Eastern Conference.

More importantly, Boogie going to the Celtics means that he and Thomas can recreate this photo, so this trade needs to happen.
