Joel Embiid Had To Be Drunk Off Shirley Temples For This Tampering Tweet At Kevin Durant

Now that Kevin Durant and the Thunder have been eliminated from the playoffs, talk has already shifted to Durant’s impending free agency. After four years of falling short of the NBA Finals following that appearance in 2012, many fanbases are hoping Durant is looking for a fresh start to get a chance at a title. They’re not alone, either — 76ers big man Joel Embiid has yet to actually play in a regular season game, but he’s already got his eye on KD:

More like Lol Embiid, am I right? I’m sure KD would love to ditch Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka and Steven Adams for … whatever the heck the Sixers will have next year, just as I’m sure LeBron was thisclose to spurning Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and a homecoming for even less two years ago. Joel, you might be drunk on Shirley Temples. Also, you need a refresher on the rules of tampering! To Larry Coon’s Salary Cap FAQ with you:

Tampering is when a player or team directly or indirectly entices, induces or persuades anybody (player, general manager, etc.) who is under contract with another team in order to negotiate for their services. The NBA may impose suspensions and/or fines up to $50,000 if tampering is discovered…

Kevin Durant is under contract until June 30. Enjoy your letter from the league office, Mr. Embiid! But we can’t blame a guy for trying.
