Karl-Anthony Towns Needed Just One Dribble To Posterize These Campers From The 3-Point Arc

Pro basketball players humiliating the kids at their youth camps have become a summer tradition unlike any other. Kevin Durant’s been doing it for years; Jaylen Brown didn’t even wait to play an NBA game to do it; Victor Oladipo elevated the form against a camper who’s also a Division I recruit; and finally, Marshawn Lynch took the tradition to the gridiron. Now, young ‘Wolves big man and future MVP candidate Karl-Anthony Towns had entered his name in the history books of completely owning kids, and his entry is glorious.

First of all, Towns isn’t just going one-on-one to prove a point, he’s taking part in what looks like a full halfcourt game, with several kids blocking the lane. Second of all, the dribble move he busts out is impressive on an empty court, so don’t give us any lip about the competition. One dribble, an entirely-too-graceful hop step and he’s already at the rim. Finally, the poor kid who couldn’t get out of the way. God bless him, but he leaves his feet and actually tries to contest the shot — he’s really what makes this video sing.

What are you doing, little man? Listen, if you don’t feel safe taking a charge, that’s cool. KAT is a huge dude. But have some sense of self preservation — you’re not going to stop him from doing anything. Stay on that kid as the loop finishes. That is pure dejection. He knows he’s about to endure the lunch period from hell when they get off the court. Just gotta know your role, my dude.
