Kevin Durant Used An Expletive To Suggest His Legacy Wouldn’t Be Affected By Joining The Warriors

Kevin Durant is doing Kevin Durant, and not worrying about whether you’re on his level. His free-agency decision made him a lot happier than it did the general public, and he was blunt enough about his choice in recent days so as to use a big old swear word in describing his new (Golden) state of mind.

“I thought about (being perceived as the proverbial villain), but in life when you make decisions based on everyone else, I think it’s the wrong decision,” Durant said in a recent conversation with USA Today. “I can’t make a decision on my life because everybody else is going to be upset about it. I just told myself to put me first, to really think about what I wanted, and that’s what I wanted. We’ll see what happens.

“Who’s going to give a (expletive) when I’m 49 years old?” he concluded, leaving readers to assume that the censored word is either “fart,” “fig newton,” or “felt-tip pen.”

If Durant’s looser diction is any indication of how he will play for Team USA this August and of course the Warriors in the coming season, we should all be quite glad. As much as we’ve seen from Durant on the court, the new heights he could reach in Oakland are dizzying to consider.
