The Warriors Will Have Kevin Durant Available As They Look To Sweep The Blazers

Kevin Durant is ready to help Golden State advance to the second round.

The Warriors announced on Monday night that Durant will be available in Game 4 of their series against the Portland Trail Blazers. It remains to be seen whether Durant will play, or how long he will see the floor if he gets out there, but the Warriors’ superstar scoring forward will be able to get out there if need be.

Durant missed Games 2 and 3 after injuring his calf in the opening game of the series against Portland. Before that injury, Durant was sidelined with a Grade 2 MCL sprain and a tibial bone bruise that kept him off the court for just over a month. Durant returned on April 8 and Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he would get the former league MVP back into playing shape by focusing on defending and rebounding. One would imagine Durant would be free to work on his conditioning and have a short leash if he appears to struggle with his multiple injuries in Game 4.

Though almost a lock to close out the Blazers without Durant, it seems he’s ready to go and can at least get some minutes under his belt before he’s truly needed in the second round.
