Some Hero Cavs Fan Started A GoFundMe Page To Stop Kevin Love From Playing

These NBA Finals have been unkind to Kevin Love. After suffering a concussion in Game 2, he was forced to sit out the next one. His team subsequently proceeded to demolish the defending champs in his absence, which prompted the basketball world at large to declare him the single biggest reason for the Cavs’ struggles. He posted an inconsequential 11 points and five rebounds in Cleveland’s Game 4 loss, then scored just two points in the following game as teammates LeBron James and Kyrie Irving put in tandem virtuoso performances in Game 5.

There’s a widely-help perception now (however hysterical) that the Cavs would simply be better off without him, and one industrious fan in particular has taken that idea to its logical extreme. A user named Giles Debenham has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise $10 million in an effort to prevent Love from playing in the remainder of the NBA Finals. Here’s what he had to say on his GoFundme page:

Kevin Love is playing like a bum and just taking up room on the court. Pay this man to take a seat and let the Cavs win these finals!!

It’s unclear exactly how this would work if by some miracle he was actually able to meet his fundraising goal. That will probably be a moot point, however, as he’s raised a grand total of $25 so far. As it stands, it looks like Tyronn Lue is committed to keeping Love in the starting lineup when Game 6 tips off in Cleveland Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
