Kevin Love’s Gorgeous Outlet For This LeBron Jam Should Make Wes Unseld Proud

Wes Unseld was a 6-foot-7 center for the Baltimore Bullets, Capitol Bullets and — finally — Washington Bullets from 1969-1981. He had a supernatural ability to flick the ball ahead after a change of possession too, turning the outlet pass into an art form.

Cavs power forward Kevin Love has used the outlet pass to devastating advantage in his career, too. He’s particularly adept at finding a streaking LeBron James.

And it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Love, like any proper basketball nerd, studied Wes Unseld tapes as a kid when the rest of his peers were lowering the hoop so they could pretend to dunk.

Love showed off his old school flavor again in Game 3 against the Raptors, and LeBron finished it with a jam.

Despite the pretty full-court connection, Toronto is leading the Cavs, 58-42, in the first half on a Cavs-like bevy of three-pointers (nine so far in the first half).
