Like everyone else, Klay Thompson wasn’t really sure what happened in the Warriors’ Game 4 loss to the Thunder, which put the greatest regular-season team of all time on the verge of elimination. During his postgame press conference, Thompson referenced the Warriors’ 40 assists as a positive from the otherwise forgettable performance, then looked down at the stat sheet in front of him to make sure he had it right.
Turns out, the number was only 15. The Warriors had 40 rebounds, which is in the slot right before assists with your traditional box score. Just a little off. But that’s the kind of night the Warriors had.
