Klay Thompson may be a world champion, an All-Star and a three-point champion but that doesn’t mean he can’t appreciate other athletes.
That much was proved on Friday night when Thompson was midway through a postgame interview following the Warriors 130-112 win over the Dallas Mavericks when he clearly got distracted. For a few more seconds Klay tried to stumble through an answer while his eyes wandered elsewhere and then he had to break character to tell someone he was a big fan. Who was that special someone that Klay couldn’t help but admire aloud? None other than Dallas Cowboys’ All-Pro wideout Dez Bryant.
Eventually Klay’s enthusiasm couldn’t be tempered and he simply told the interviewer “I gotta go,” and abruptly walked away to exchange pleasantries with Dez. The conversation was short, with Klay reiterating to Dez that he was a big fan before moving along, but you could tell the admiration was mutual.
