Watch Klay Thompson And Jimmy Butler Go One-On-One On A Football Field

If Team USA’s 57-point drubbing of China in their opening game of the Rio Olympics on Saturday is any indication, they don’t have much to worry about on the basketball court. In fact, they got so bored at one point during that game that Jimmy Butler and DeMar DeRozan played rock, paper, scissors to decide who got to shoot a technical free throw.

So with the day off on Sunday, a couple of USA Basketball teammates decided to blow off some excess energy on the football field. With assistant coach Monty Williams playing quarterback, Klay Thompson and the aforementioned Butler took turns guarding each other at wide receiver. Thompson made a nice catch after beating Butler down field in the video posted to his Instagram account above, then proceeded to generously offer his services to the Oakland Raiders.

But of course, Butler offered proof that he got his revenge in the video below posted to his own Instagram account, complete with a dig about Thompson’s light-skin complexion.

Nothing like a little friendly competition against teammates. The men’s senior national team will resume action on Monday against Venezuela, who they beat handily during their exhibition game last week in the lead-up to the games.
