‘Don’t Push It,’ But Kobe Bryant’s Got A Lot Of ‘Respect’ For Blake Griffin’s Improvement

Kobe Bryant was watching the Lakers’ crosstown rivals spectacularly fail in their bid to move on to the Western Conference Finals last night. He even tweeted out some DAP for Blake Griffin, who continued to play like a superstar through the game’s first three quarters; Blake was 12-of-15 through three for 28 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a block, but was 0-for-5 in that nightmare fourth session.

ESPN LA’s Arash Markazi then alluded to Magic’s presence at the Clippers game, and Kobe’s tweet as evidence of a new coexistence between the two Los Angeles squads.

After Vino’s original tweet he probably started lifting and doing suicide sprints before he came back to his phone and saw Markazi’s tweet.

Kobe put the kibosh on that right quick.

We’re guessing a second consecutive April and May stuck on the sidelines is internally ripping Bryant apart right now. Blake has been playing out of his mind these entire playoffs, despite last night’s final 12 minutes, so Kobe paid a rare compliment to a current NBA player.

But we shouldn’t mistake that for any chumminess with Blake or anyone else who isn’t sporting purple and gold.
