Though the Boston Celtics have come out on top more often than not against their longtime rivals come June, the Los Angeles Lakers have still kept the green and gold from three NBA titles. The most recent occasion was in 2010, when Kobe Bryant won Finals MVP after leading the Lakers to a seven-game victory over the Celtics.
Bryant, basically, should be persona non grata to Boston faithful. But his imminent retirement, apparently, transcends even one of the most glorified rivalries in all of sports.
What a moment.
