It’s safe to say not even Saul Silver and Dale Denton, who are BFFFs, have achieved the same level of bromance as Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors. The two are practically inseparable and it’s actually one of the coolest things to see in the NBA.
Naturally, it felt like a good idea to pair Lowry and DeRozan in a Ford commercial called the Ultimate Skills Challenge. It’s about what you’d think. Basically, it involves Lowry and DeRozan attempting a bunch of passes and shots into a car. Of course, hilarity ensues.
You can check out the entire commercial above, but the Cliff’s Notes version is that Lowry is far better at meaningless ball skills involving motor vehicles than DeRozan. Lowry can chest pass a ball straight into a trunk while blindfolded and shoot a ball into a moonroof using Raptor gloves. DeRozan on the other hand? Not so much.
Whoever came up with these challenges is a genius, but the real comedy is watching the two interact. The commercial is as much about their back-and-forth banter as anything else. It’s comedic gold. Well, that and trying to sell cars. And tickets to Raptors games. There are those things, too.
