LaVar Ball Responded To Ice Cube’s BIG3 Challenge By Raising The Stakes

LaVar Ball and Ice Cube appear to have themselves a shooting contest to plan. The Big Baller Brand patriarch accepted Ice Cube’s 4-point shooting challenge in his own unique way on Tuesday, upping the stakes and talking a bit of trash to the BIG 3 founder as our brand awareness continued to grow in kind.

If you’re unfamiliar with a 4-point shot, it’s a unique feature of Cube’s 3-on-3 league that starts later this summer. Last week, Ice Cube challenged LaVar Ball to hit a 4-point shot in an Instagram video where Cube nailed the shot himself. He challenged Ball to make it, saying he’d buy 10 pairs of Big Baller Brand ZO2s as a reward.

Ball had his own stakes in mind with his response on Tuesday.

“We gonna accept that challenge, man,” Ball said. “If I make this shot before you make it, you have to buy my whole travel ball team—that’s 14 people—ZO2s.”

For those wondering what that would cost Cube, 14 pairs of ZO2s would cost $6,930. That seems well worth it for Ball who, while wearing a $220-pair of Big Baller Brand slides, showed off his “pretty” form by taking a shot on a hoop off camera. There’s no telling if the shot went in, but it sounded like a loud thud, so many of the comments on the video suspect he bricked it and tried to play it off as a made basket.

Made or not, this is all excellent branding and sets up what will absolutely be a worthwhile shooting contest to witness live. We know LaVar isn’t the best of ballers, and I’m honestly pretty unfamiliar with Cube’s game. But I guess we’ll find out who can actually ball soon enough.
