LeBron James Unsurprisingly Feels ‘Very Good’ About Cavs’ Chances Against Warriors

In a historic feat, the Golden State Warriors swept all three rounds of the playoffs and enter the NBA Finals with a perfect 12-0 postseason record. Throughout their historic streak, the Warriors have been unbeatable and are the rightful favorites to win their second championship in three years. But, as last year’s Finals showed, anything is possible and despite seemingly overwhelming odds and the Warriors are not guaranteed to win, which is why LeBron James is feeling confident about the Cavs‘ chances against Golden State.

Talking with reporters on Sunday, James said that he feels “very good” about Cleveland’s chances in the Finals:

James’ confidence is rather unsurprising especially since he has a history of winning despite underwhelming odds. Plus James has shown in the past and throughout the postseason that he is the best player in the league and can literally take over games by himself.

James is not underestimating the star-laden Warriors though but is ready for the challenge.

From the Associated Press’ Tom Withers:

“I’ve played against four Hall of Famers as well, too, with Manu (Ginobili), Kawhi (Leonard), Tony (Parker) and Timmy D (Tim Duncan) on the same team,” said James, occasionally sniffling as he continues to fight a cold. “And if you add Pop (coach Gregg Popovich) in there, that’s five Hall of Famers. So, it’s going to be very challenging. Those guys are going to challenge me, they’re going to challenge our ballclub.

“This is a high-powered team.”

James is not giving the Warriors any bulletin board material here and is playing it a bit safe. Yet his confidence is quite clear and the Cavs will follow James’ lead against the Warriors in Game 1 on Thursday.
