Kyrie Irving Sure Didn’t Seem Enthused While LeBron Chewed Him Out

This has almost certainly been the weirdest year of Kyrie Irving‘s life. Between his declining numbers, the fact that he missed the first two months (or so) with an injury, all of the recent news about his love life, and his seemingly frosty relationship with LeBron James, you probably can’t blame Irving if he wants this season to just end.

The most surprising on-court development, though, has been all of the reported turmoil in his relationship with the four-time league MVP. As one scout put it, the on-court chemistry between the two seems to be “basically non-existent.”

The latest episode of “Do LeBron and Kyrie Like Each Other?” happened last night, when James tried talking to Irving on the bench during overtime and the All-Star point guard didn’t seem like he wanted to hear what LeBron had to say.

So what was LeBron saying? For Irving to seem so wholly disinterested, you’d think that it’s something pretty gnarly, right?

As it turns out, all James was doing was trying to encourage Irving – who didn’t have his best game on Friday night – as he was coming into the game during a crucial stretch during crunch time.

Hopefully we’ll get to a point where everything with the Cavs doesn’t seem like it will lead to a total locker room mutiny. Maybe with the Playoffs around the corner, some postseason success can boost the team’s perceived low morale.
