J.R. Smith Just Wants LeBron To Save Him A Spot On His ‘Dope’ Superteam

If LeBron James has his wish come true and gets to play with Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade, it will create one of the most dynamic, talented teams in NBA history.

They would be The Avengers of the NBA.

Oh, and if that does happen, J.R. Smith would like to be part of it too.

“That would be dope. That’d be sick. I’d like to see it. I just hope they save me a spot and I’m on the team.”

Smith was teammates with Anthony in Denver and New York for eight-plus seasons so maybe he can get a letter of recommendation from him. Because, really, who wouldn’t want to be on that team as the fifth or sixth man?

You know how The Avengers have Thor, Captain America and Iron Man and that’s all they really need? Maybe The Hulk can do things those three can’t, but that’s about it? You’re watching the movie and you can’t figure out why The Avengers need a guy who is good at archery or a woman who knows karate?

Smith could be that archery guy or karate lady! He’ll do an occasional thing when the four important Avengers are busy with other stuff and he can get credit for saving the day. “You beat the 76ers! Thanks, J.R. Smith!” That would be fun for him.

The 30-year-old Smith is averaging 12.3 points per game for the Cavaliers this season.
