“Bring your game,” is the tag line for Nike’s newest spot, which debuted on Christmas Day with a special five minute commercial featuring their full slate of Nike athletes, most of whom are playing on X-Mas. This isn’t really a commercial, so much as a novella where an adorable foursome of kids go around spending time with Nike basketball players to decide who is their favorite.
LeBron James, Elena Delle Donne (of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky), Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis and Paul George all spend some time with a pretty cute foursome of children who start the spot off arguing about their favorite players on the local stoop (seriously).
Our favorite was probably Kobe’s meditation section with the kids. When Mamba reveals the shark tank — sans shark — one of the kids rightfully asks: “Where’s the shark?”
His concurrent intonation “It’s in your mind,” with the little girl was all sorts of terrific.

But Kobe is just one of the multitude of stars the kids visit. All of Nike’s athletes bring their own unique flavor. Nike continues to lead the way with their smorgasbord of talent. Yes, Beard walked to the three stripes, and Under Armour spotted Steph’s brilliance before anyone else, but they’ve still got a lot of star wattage left at the swoosh.
