This Sequence Reminds Us Why LeBron Might Still Be The Best All-Around Player In The World

LeBron was supposed to be a lot happier this time around in Cleveland. With the addition of Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, James was supposed to coast to his first title with the Cavs. But since his announcement in the summer of 2014, Stephen Curry appears to have supplanted him as the game’s most dangerous offensive weapon and possibly the greatest player in the game today. It doesn’t hurt his case that he won an NBA title last season, either.

Except, everyone forgets that last season, due to injuries, LeBron once again found himself in the position of having to carry his team to the Finals. The above sequence is a strong reminder why he’s more than capable of doing so in the talent-depleted Eastern Conference.

LeBron starts the sequence, admittedly, with a picked-off pass. “I got this” he probably says as he races down the floor to swat away Jae Crowder’s ensuing shot at the rim. After another missed shot by Boston, James gets the rebound and takes it up the court on his own for the jam.

Good luck with all that, Eastern Conference.

Not only did James and the Cavs get the win against the visiting Celtics, but he passed Tim Duncan for 17th on the all-time NBA/ABA scoring list.
