LiAngelo And LaMelo Ball Will Stay In Lithuania After The Remainder Of Their Contracts Were Picked Up

The two biggest ballers in the history of Lithuanian professional basketball aren’t going anywhere for a few more months. According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, Vytautas Prienu has decided to exercise the options on its two most famous players, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball, through the end of the current season.

Under this agreement, the Ball brothers will stay with the club through June of this year.

LaMelo and LiAngelo — the younger brothers of Los Angeles Lakers starting point guard Lonzo Ball — turned professional Dec. 11, signing one-year contracts with Vytautas. For LaMelo and LiAngelo, the decision to sign in Lithuania has led to individual and team progress, and Vytautas team officials told Yahoo Sports the commitment for the remainder of the season has been a foregone conclusion.

It’s been an interesting stint in Lithuania for the brothers, as they’ve mixed some admittedly pretty solid performances with the general silliness that has followed the Ball family around ever since it entered the national spotlight last year. Namely, the pair have seen their father, LaVar, ascend up the team’s ranks, going from a sports dad, to an assistant coach, to a head coach for some reason. Also, the team’s head coach called LaMelo a “little chipmunk,” which was kind of weird.

Who knows what the duo will do after their contracts are up, but for now, the Balls are going to continue to get buckets in Lithuania.
