One of Marcus Smart‘s greatest strengths since coming into the league has been his scrappy defense. Drawing offensive fouls is certainly part of the overall defensive repertoire, but the Celtics point guard got a little overzealous in trying to sell this one to the refs Tuesday night at MSG. In fact, it was so egregious that Carmelo Anthony – who was clearly in disbelief at Smart’s audacity – ended up bricking a wide-open shot badly off the side of the backboard.
