After not playing for much of the 2015 portion of the 2015-16 NBA season, Marcus Smart is starting off the new year in style with this gorgeous up-and-under layup. Smart is the thunder to Isaiah Thomas’ lightning – a bigger, stronger guard whose drives to the rim are powered by brawn rather than speed. The Celtics need that dynamic as the season wears on. Even though the Celtics have been surprisingly good in his absence, they could sure use him to solidify their spot among the East’s second-tier teams. (No, that wasn’t a slight at the Celtics. Second-tier is really good for this roster!).
