Check Out The Latest Design Renderings For The Milwaukee Bucks’ New Arena

The Bucks are hoping to move into a new arena by the start of the 2018-19 season. With approval for funding already out of the way, the franchise is quickly approaching its goal to break ground on the project some time this summer.

Now, the Bucks are just a little bit closer, and they’ve released some designs of what the arena will look like when all is said and done.

Last summer, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker approved a deal that would send $250 million of taxpayer money toward the construction of the Bucks’ new stadium. A little more pressure came to the city and state governments to keep the team after current owners Marc Lasry and Wes Edens purchased the franchise from Herb Kohl in 2014.

Written into the sales contract was a clause that said the NBA had the right to buy the Bucks back from Edens and Lasry, who purchased the organization for $550 million, for $575 million if a new arena wasn’t finalized by 2017. That looked like a distinct possibility even as recently as this past summer, when Bucks president Peter Feigin said the NBA could buy back the Bucks for a $25 million profit and move the team to Las Vegas or Seattle.
