An NBA Team Asked A Draft Prospect A Bizarre Question About How He Wants To Die

The NFL Draft process has featured a few truly bizarre stories over the last few years. Not because of anything that necessarily happens with the prospects, mind you, but because teams feel the need to ask players questions that have nothing to do with their ability to play football. The line we always hear is that it’s done to put players in “uncomfortable situations” to see how they respond, but really, it’s just straight up weird.

This has apparently made its way into the NBA Draft as well Former Kansas guard Frank Mason got pulled aside by ESPN’s Jeff Goodman and was asked about the craziest question he’s heard in an interview. Mason had to think about it for a split second, but knew the answer and was able to go into some detail about his response.

An NBA team asked Frank Mason how he'd like to die… 😳

“The craziest question was probably ‘If I were to die, which way would I want to go out?'” Mason recalled. “That was crazy.”

Goodman then pressed him on how he responded, to which Mason said he told the team that asked him that he wants to go in his sleep while surrounded by his family.

This was all incredibly weird by any measure, but the weirdest part came at the end when Goodman said this was a good answer. I would like to know what would classify as a bad answer – although I suppose that this was a bad question, so in a way, every answer is bad.
