The relationship between basketball and Twitter has been mutually beneficial since the social media giant’s rise to prominence in the late 2000s. And as both entities continue to thrive a decade later, they’ve finally made that immensely fruitful partnership a bit more official.

The NBA announced on Tuesday morning that it will bring live original programming and streaming video to Twitter, Vine, and Periscope. Most notably, a pregame show that features specific integrations with Twitter will be streamed free of charge on a weekly basis beginning next season. An as yet unknown additional program will be broadcast in 2016-17, too.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver expressed excitement about this new alliance.

“We’re excited about bringing live content to Twitter, which has proven to be an ideal destination for real-time sports conversations,” said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.  “We’ve seen technology bring fans closer to our game, teams and players in ways we could have only imagined a decade ago.  This expanded partnership will help feed our fans’ growing demand for the NBA by more deeply integrating the league across Twitter’s many platforms.”

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said he’s glad to be furthering the unique relationship between the league and his company.

“Twitter is the fastest way to find out what’s happening in the NBA and to have a discussion about it,” said Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.  “Watching NBA basketball together with Twitter is a great experience, and the league has been at the forefront of embracing new ways to reach their fans.  We’re happy to bring even more great NBA content to our global audience.”
