The New Basketball Hall Of Fame Jackets Are An Odious Orange Color

Haggar Clothing Co. designed new jackets for the 2016 Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Class, and they’re, um, interesting.

The new jackets are made with “Naismith Orange” to give a nod to the color of basketballs, or something. The new orange jackets are quite a step away from the sleek black jackets from past induction ceremonies. Comcast Sport’s Jessica Camerato tweeted photos of HOF inductees Jerry Colangelo and Shaquille O’Neal wearing the newly designed Haggar jacket.

Some of the updates to the jacket include a silver lining with Basketball Hall of Fame and Haggar logos, antiquated brass buttons, and a felt patch showcasing a basketball court and the Basketball Hall of Fame emblem.

John L. Doleva, the president and CEO of the Basketball Hall of Fame, spoke about their new partnership with Haggar.

“As a leader in menswear, Haggar was the perfect choice to help us update the Basketball Hall of Fame jacket to create an iconic piece,” said Doleva. “The new Basketball Hall of Fame jacket is instantly recognizable and reflective of the honorees’ outstanding and unique contributions to the sport.”

This year’s class includes the likes of O’Neal, Allen Iverson, Yao Ming, Sheryl Swoops, Tom Izzo and others.

You can get your first look at the jacket this Friday during the induction ceremony, but at least AI likes them:
