Nike’s retro business will never run out of products to bring back to today’s market. For their latest reissue, they dug up the Air Alpha Force II, a pair made famous by Sir Charles Barkley back when he used to wreak havoc in the paint with Rick Mahorn in Philadelphia. As such, the Swoosh decided to do this pair in the original red, white and blue mock-up with the added twist of placing Chuck’s number 34 on the heel, similar to how they treated the ‘Liberty Bell’ version in 2003. I still have my pair from the 2009 retro that I just started wearing more regularly, which means I’ll probably end up with the 2015 pair to wear maybe around 2019-2020.
No word on when the stateside release will land but the Nike Air Alpha Force II is available now at select international retailers, including Sneakersnstuff. Personally, I’d wait it out to see if they make to U.S. soil and go on sale. New heads will bypass them, which means fans of the straps-n-crap era of b-ball kicks should be able to score these for a song by exercising a little patience.
