A Few Clutch Steals Helped Notre Dame Beat Wisconsin In A Thrilling Finish

Notre Dame looked like it was in some serious trouble in their Sweet 16 matchup against Wisconsin on Friday night. The Fighting Irish were down by three in a game that they never really led, but thanks to a layup by Demetrius Jackson, they cut that lead to one with 19 seconds remaining. On the next possession, Jackson forced a steal –- his pressure on Wisconsin’s Nigel Hayes flustered the Badgers’ star –- laid the ball in, and gave the Fighting Irish a go-ahead basket.

Mike Brey’s squad ended the game on an 8-0 run to close the game, giving it a 61-56 win. Notre Dame will try to advance to the Final Four on Sunday when it plays either North Carolina or Indiana.
