This was the craziest game of the season’s first three nights. That might not seem like much, but we might also be calling this the best game of the season’s first half. That’s what happens when Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant combine to score 91 points (48 for Russ on 17-of-36 from the field; 43 for KD on 15-of-30) in a 139-136 double overtime win over the upstart Orlando Magic. Victor Oladipo hit a pair of huge three-pointers, (and despite an off night shooting, recorded a triple-double), and four Magic players — led by Tobias Harris’ team-high 30 — scored over 20 points on a night when any stop was considered big.
So what were the plays that stuck out?
Lets go through them, starting with Kevin Durant’s three-pointer with 13 seconds left in regulation. It completed an 18-point turnover in the final quarter, and set the stage for more dramatics.
