D.Gib hurting his shoulder, hurt clev. chances. I didn’t believe one bit of those ESPN fools picking the “Fake Show” to win
Since when do ball boys get to sit at the press table and take questions???
“Up next, a few questions from the janitor.”
Scal’s a doofus, he should never had even been up there.
lmao yeah he is a real duche’
hmm maybe everyone picked the lakers because the ATLANTA HAWKS took you to 7, and the clevelnad labrons took you to 7, and detroit took you to 6, while the lakers swept the nuggets, took out the best home team in the league in 6 and beat up the defending champ spurs in 5.
This guy is pathetic.
IF I was KG, I woould’ve came up there and slapped his damn face, look at the camera and say: ANYTHING IS POSSIBUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLL!!!
This guy is a prick.
Did he even play?
This guy is a prick. (yup)
Did he even play? (we won, how could he have played.)
Man, if I was a reporter, I would have asked this question:
What gives you the right to be up there when you have to play to be effective?
Scalabrine went from Veal to ground chuck in one press conference.
Denver quit before they even got swept & made the Laker look like a contender
lakers had the worst season of any finals team:
#22 of the Rockets winning streak
Biggest comeback loss in finals history
Margin of loss in a final’s game
Celtics break championship winless streak vs who? The Fakers
Never heard of him. I actually thought it was actor Michael Rapaport.
You know what the worst part is? Years down the road, Scalabrine is gonna become this team’s version of Mercury Morris. Whenever they do a TV retrospective on the ’08 Celtics or Kevin Garnett or Paul Pierce or Ray Allen, you’re always gonna see Scalabrine interviewed for the piece, just because he seeks out the cameras and he’s got something of a personality (albeit an insufferable one). The one difference between Scal and Mercury is that Mercury was GOOD. He was the starting tailback. He PLAYED.
E$ and what does all of that have to do with why the media chose the lakers to win?
the nuggets still got swept,
that #22 against the rockets came with no bynam AND no gasol, hell they had turiaf as the starting center
last i checked the picks to win the finals WHERE BEFORE SAID COMBACK LOSS, OR THE MARGIN OF LOSS and who where the celtics supposed to beat i nthe finals? last i checked the lakers where the team there so your last point is almost as ignorant as scalabrini himself.
I like it.He practiced every day and got a check and it pays more than half the team gets.Talk shit homie you earned it.
You give Kobe Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen and lets see what he can do with them..instead of Gasol and Odom who are decent but, are questionable…you have to realize that KG and Ray Allen have played in big games before. Unlike LO and Gasol…
kb24 They all played in the playoffs before this year and none in the finals so if they didnt play big games neither did the other 2.
MARK MADDOG MADSEN WAS BIGGER PART OF LAKERS CHAMPIONSHIPS THEN THIS LOSER BEEN TO CELTS.
BEST THING HE DID WAS CARRY PIERCE OFF THE COURT.
doc lets be real, odom had never been past the 1st round, (no laker besides kobe and fisher have) and hell gasol had never even won a single playoff game EVER! before coming to the lakers. to say “they have all bein in big games” is just not a true statement. like saying a kid moving up to the varsity from JV and then losing his 1st 10 games then he wins one, and now he has “been in a big game” doesnt work like that.
Yeah Pierce had Ray and KG, but hey, nobody likes to play with Kobe.
Pierce gives Allen his momnets and his nights, the same as he does with KG. He’s not afraid to get saved by his teammates. They’re all equal in Boston, and I for one would love to play with any of them.
But the Lakers? I ain’t takin’ crap from a wannabe-Jordan who’s as selfish as they come. Arrogant I can take; but somebody who’ll throw me under the bus? Yell at me and fail to lead by example himself? Please.
Kobe is a one-man show. Always was, always will be. He’s the hero, and there’s not enough space in the limelight and enough air in the ball to share with Kobe.
So maybe that’s the real reason the Celtics have a better cast of players, if they do indeed.
Ranger LO got out the first round for Miami in Wade rookie year check the records. And since when did the playoffs become small games.
Did he even play a minute in the playoffs? Why is he getting q&a
wow..where was he during the whole playoffs? sittin his fat a** comfortably on the bench. lol but if u aint watch the thing he did about lebron yall should this guy is stupid. come on man ill shit on this guy, let me play him for his contract since he cant find anything better to do with it. 4real, my life vs. his contract on the line one on one.
There’s only a couple of players in the NBA that I think I could beat 1 on 1, but he’s the only one I KNOW I could beat. I’ve honestly never seen him play a good game.
I got Scal beasting the shit out of yall
What a scrub and a corny motherfucker at that.
you are correct odom was on that team, and the 1st round of the playoffs are not exactly a HUGE game, second round is a little tougher but the “big games” are conf and nba finals, everything else is JV
damn straight man….why play with kobe when you can team up with paul, ray…
kobe is too selfish as a player to allow other people steal his glory…..
lol doc u crazy as hell. only thing he ever beasted was a big mac.
why does he keep saying ‘we’?
This isn’t on the video, but after Scalabrine left, Dino Radja did his press conference.
I have no doubts most of you will enjoy this.
Do you think you know enough about basketball pictures to spot the differences?
check it out…pics of past NBA Finals. Can you find the differences?
Doc is right.. I love how a few weeks ago everyone was hyping how NO ONE ON THE CELTICS has any playoff experience except cassel and posey so obviously the celtics have no chance. Now that hte lakers get scrubed its “o well what do you expect, odom and gasol have no experience. What happen to all those years of internation experience everyone was sayin would help gasol? what happen to him being a STAR 20-10 guy who just happen to b on a bad team? Your bitchin meanwhile before this year, scal had been farther in the playoffs than allen,KG or pierce (although he didnt really play). So now that everyone wants to jump off the lakers bandwagon and make it like they werent the ones hyping how much of a joke rivers was compared to jackson or how kobe was tooo much like jordan to get this close and let his team lose…please..We all knew gasol was soft, but people hyped him up so don’t back pedal too much off your predictions guys… Ha and now suddenly bynum is gonna be the savior for next year too.
Everyone made it like the western conference playoffs was gonna be so rough and tough meanwhile outside of the rockets and hornets, none of the teams even pushed their oppenents to a game 7. So of course the celts are gonna be more battle tested. The pistons would have beat the nuggets and jazz too. Hell cleveland might of. Until the spurs, the lakers had a breeze playoff schedule (perk of being #1) almost similar to clevelands last year. Same result in the finals though.
lol. I didn’t think this was that bad…sure the guy is an idiot and has no right to talk since he doesn’t play, but it’s true I’m a Lakers fan and although I wanted the Lakers to win. 66 wins 3 all stars and the best defense in the league was hard to deny. Defense wins championships folks remember that. The fact that Boston was somehow the underdogs really is mind boggling. It speaks to the fact that it was perceived that they were playing so horribly in the East while LA was blowing through the West.
Maybe the East isn’t as weak as everyone thinks…they certainly play better D over there and once again Defense wins championships…remember that.
The athletic trainer did more to help the C’s win the chip than Scal..Rapport looking mother*******! Why would you even listen to the media..I guess you got alot of free time when your sitting on the bench..Scal and I both recorded a DNP-CD for the playoffs..and he even dressed in one of those games!
@ E! you are making no sense..going off your logic that the Nuggets gave up then this Championship should have an asterik..because the Lakers gave up too!
REal Celtics fan appreciate what Scal had done to this team. He might not played a lot in the Playoff, but he was a positive dude, very likable teammate. U hate on him because he spoke the truth that all of u so called experts picked the Fakers to win without even watch how we play defense….SCAL is DA MAN !!!!!
his sarcastic dig in response to the reporter’s joke was a little douchy, but seriously sporting journalism is a joke and somehow more hollow than your typical celebrity gossip reporting
Um pimpin ATL took you all to A 7TH GAME. You was right to doubt yourself and your team. The rest of all that doubted the Celtics were right to do it too.
Cause just for the sake of putting it out there. You honestly have to wonder had ATL had homecourt would Boston have even gotten out that series.
Yea he a d-bag. I so wish I could have been a reporter. Dude should have hit him up with, well you have had time to ponder these type of things with not playing a lot.
Why do you ask questions to the guy who played the least and is just a warm body on the bench?
started the interview in asshole mode, but it wasn’t like dude wasn’t speaking the truth.
he was lucky steven A smith or someone wasnt there cuz he would got put in check quick though

This blog has been created for people to comment on articles that where they were originally sourced from do not allow comments – I was getting so infuriated with one-eyed reporting that I made this for people to respond, and perhaps the author seeing it one day to see what readers really think.
First on the block – Bill Simmons
Sorry but was he wrong? No he wasn’t. He pointed out the truth. If you want to hate him for telling the truth go ahead.
I’m pretty sure no reporter requested Scalabrine, he just waited for the gap between KG and Kobe’s pressers and went up there himself. He’s obviously trying to set himself up for a TV job when he’s done playing and figured “What bigger opportunity?”
Stop Hating Im getting Paid and Laid, cant blame me for riding the pga tour all the way to the finals, how many rings do yall have combined??0000000000 yall are just mad i got front row seats to see the biggest game of the nba season. im laughing all the way to the bank att everybody’s favorite ex net
fuck you scalabrine, that was supposed to be my interview! I had a whole interview planned out talking about how I could have done it better than that cocksucker kobe(I whoop up on him every day in practice). My dad spent more time on the court yelling at refs in the first round than I have my whole career! suck on that before you think youre a true benchwarmer!
dude was just drunk
quit making a deal outta it
Everybody here is questioning Scalabrine, but nobody talked about the question he posed. HOw was that all those so called “experts” were picking the Lakers to win the Finals? The Celtics in only NINE months became a good team, then they became the best team in the regular season, then they kept climbing the ladder to the top learning in each and every playoff series how to play together.
It is sad that all those “experts” weren’t able to understand what was going on, because teams have always defeated one man bands, and defenses have always defeated offenses.
Now, you can say all you want, but Scal pinned those “experts” to their responsibilities.
Keep talking about his redhead, his non-existent speed, his scarce contribution in terms of playing time. But, still you won’t have answered his witty question.
fck u coby karl.. ur only in the league because ur father made a deal with the lakers, he told phil that if he put u in the bench ,george would give up and let the lakers sweep the nuggets
The answer to Scalabrine’s question is that his team struggled throughout the playoffs, getting taken to 7 games by the under-500 Hawks, getting taken to 7 games by the “one man band” Cavs, and while beating the Pistons in 6, were not getting the best performances out of their best player, Kevin Garnett. Meanwhile, the team they were facing in the Finals had just knocked off the defending champion Spurs in 5 games, beaten a very tough Jazz team in 6, and destroyed the Nuggets in 4. At the time the Finals started, you couldn’t have told me the Celtics were playing better basketball than the Lakers. What happened was that Boston finally got it going when it mattered most. And he made so much about 66 wins, keep in mind they got to play teams like New York, Miami, Milwaukee, and the rest of the Eastern Conference’s weaker ones 3-4 times instead of two times.
