Robin Lopez Gave An Interview While Holding His Incredibly Fluffy Dog

Robin Lopez is a dog person. That was kind of assumed when we learned that he wouldn’t live with his twin brother, Brook, because the Nets’ center has a cat who is “two-faced.” Because nearly every non-cat person is a dog person, this was a safe bet to make.

Lopez confirmed this on Saturday during his exit interview for the 2016-17 season. The Bulls got bounced from the postseason on Friday night by the Boston Celtics, and one day later, Chicago players met with the media. Lopez was joined by his big ol’ fluffy dog named Muppet.

Muppet seems like an extremely good dog. I say this for three reason:

  1. Dogs are extremely good. Muppet is a dog. Ergo, Muppet is extremely good.
  2. Locker rooms are pretty exclusive places, and it’s exceedingly likely that the Bulls would not let a bad dog into their locker room. Muppet is in their locker room. Ergo, Muppet is an extremely good dog.
  3. Just look at how chill and fluffy Muppet is while Lopez is answering a question that is ostensibly about how he wants to stay in Chicago. Muppet is just hanging onto Lopez like he doesn’t have a care in the world, and he’s getting so much joy out of the Bulls’ center just holding him up and loving him like the swell pupper he is.

There has not been a superstar basketball dog since Air Bud. Muppet seems like he could that superstar dog. Just look at how excited Benny the Bull was to meet him, and vice versa.

Additionally, here is a picture of Muppet when he was just a puppy.

Muppet rules.
