Russell Westbrook Told Jimmy Fallon He Doesn’t Know Who Charles Barkley Is

Russell Westbrook plays like a cannonball that is constantly in search of some righteous vengeance. His intensity is measured with a Richter Scale and to use one last metaphor, more often than not, Russ is going for the knock-out punch. So, it’s always a little bit of a delight to see Westbrook’s more subtle jabs.

While perusing photos of Westbrook’s famous game-day attire during the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar’s recent appearance on The Tonight Show, hostJimmy Fallon couldn’t resist mentioning Charles Barkley’s penchant for complaining about said attire. Barkley, of course, is the High Priest of Old-School Curmudgeons, and his “the kids aren’t alright” posturing has moved into the realm of all-time best signature moves along with Kareem’s sky hook or Hakeem’s dream shake

Westbrook’s response is an elegant ethering, a simple and almost whispered ‘Who?”, a shot heard around the internet. It’s good to see Westbrook still has a sense of humor after…well, you know. If you watch the full clip it’s clear that that particular zing was all in good fun, though it’s almost certain that Barkley will soon fire back with a meandering, “Get off my lawn, stop shooting so much, get yourself a big man who can score 30 points and 18 rebounds a game, and maybe then you’ll have more rings than I myself currently have. Don’t you agree, Ernie?”
