Watch Shaq Perform Some Video Voodoo With A Surprise Smile For A Lucky Fan

Shaq, a grizzly bear of good times, has a keener eye than you might think. The above Twitter user thought he was secretly recording his first ever meeting with the former Lakers and Magic Goliath.

But “they” had banned cell phone photography. “They” are the various buffers all celebrity athletes employ to control their interactions with the press. Except, “they” didn’t stop this fan from covertly filming despite the rules. Except, Shaq — like all contemporary stars who’ve survived the jungles of our smart phone culture — has a sixth sense for recording devices.

He knew exactly where to turn to flash those pearly whites as the fan was filming.

Ironically, the Twitter user who subverted instructions to avoid cell phone photography is himself a publicist!

Dominick Nati says in his Twitter bio he’s a publicist “for today’s top celebrities, artists, & entertainers.” And a cursory look supports the claim.

You would think someone who calls himself the “King of Contacts” would be a little more understanding and avoid skirting the rules in place for his meet and greet with the Big Aristotle. It seems even publicists hate the rules other publicists impose.

But, let’s not forget, it’s their job. We deal with PR people all the time, and it sucks for all of us, but that’s the gig they elected to do. Weird an actual publicist couldn’t empathize.
