LeBron Sent Shaq Into A ‘Frenzy’ After Passing Him On The All-Time Scoring List

LeBron James is, by any measure, one of the best players in NBA history. While he has already accomplished an incredible amount in the league, James is just 32 years old and, as a result, the Cleveland Cavaliers forward will have plenty of opportunities to make dents in the NBA’s record book in the future.

One of those opportunities arrived on Thursday evening, as James surpassed Shaquille O’Neal for seventh place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

James zoomed beyond O’Neal in the final moments of an upset loss to the Chicago Bulls on TNT (because the Bulls don’t lose under those circumstances). That fittingly provided O’Neal with the opportunity to react to the occasion in real time during the postgame show.

Shaq was gracious and overly complimentary of his former teammate in an expected way and it would have been appropriate to simply end any sort of tribute right then and there. However, O’Neal and Dennis Scott weren’t done, as the always entertaining Inside The NBA crew morphed into what they do in poking fun at what transpired.

O’Neal’s actions during what was obviously a spoof-worthy video were hysterical and Scott played his part quite well in support. There is probably a small modicum of truth in Shaq’s parody “reaction,” if only because all-time greats in any sport are overly competitive in nature. Still, this was a perfect mix in the aftermath of an event that, once again, illustrates just how great LeBron James is and Shaquille O’Neal was a good sport in the process.
