Stephen Curry had a setback with his ankle injury earlier in the week when he slipped and did not play against the Los Angeles Clippers after spraining his right ankle.
.
Instead, he played cheerleader as Kevin Durant reached the 20,000 point mark in his career. Many hoped that Curry would be back by the weekend, a minor crisis averted for the Warriors as the season reaches its midpoint.

But on Friday we learned that Curry’s injury may be more significant than many first hoped. ESPN’s Chris Haynes reported that Curry would not play on Friday against the Milwaukee Bucks because of his injury.

Curry missing a second game could be a sign of true trouble, or it’s just the Warriors being cautious with him in an effort to not make anything worse. The goal with this Warriors team has always been a repeat as NBA champions, and they’ve been fine without major pieces throughout the season.

We’ll have to wait to hear what Steve Kerr says about Curry’s status when he speaks with the media, but let’s hope the Dubs are just being careful here. It’s a long season, and if a simple accident in practice can make his previous ankle injury flare up, the Warriors don’t want to do anything to make it worse than it already is.
