Steve Kerr’s Commentary On Breaking His Whiteboard Will Endear You To Him Even More

Move over Bruce Lee, we got a new ninja in town, and he lives in Golden State.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr was very upset during the third quarter of Game 1. The Cavs had erased the Warriors halftime lead after the home team came out sloppy in the second half of their NBA Finals rematch. The Cavs were making a bit of a run and Kerr decided to go HAM on his clipboard after calling a timeout. He broke it into four separate pieces in just one karate chop! Clearly, the man has taken lessons. Picture it, Steve Kerr, secret black belt karate master.

Kerr’s rationale for the smashed whiteboard, the second time he’s done that this season (that’s been captured by cameras), was even better than watching his anger crystalize around the object.

Kerr is usually very even-keeled, or at least he’s good at giving that impression. But seeing him go from enraged to completely Zen only adds to his status, both as a monster masher and a basketball coach.

After WhiteboardGate, the Warriors were able to turn things around and by the middle of the forth quarter they had basically run away with the game, winning 104-89.

I think it’s safe to say it looks like Steve Kerr is the new Zen Master, which only makes sense because Phil Jackson was his coach when Kerr was a member of the second three-peat during the Michael Jordan era in Chicago.
