How big a difference did Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph make?
Without them, the Knicks look a lot like Isiah‘s team. The loudest the Garden has been all night was when LeBron sunk two triples in the first five minutes. Since then, there’s been an undercurrent of boo’s.
In the first quarter, New York shot 34% from the floor – the only bright spot being Chris Duhon‘s 8 points. Aside from that, they look abominable on offense, and pretty clueless on D. And it’s not like LeBron is killing them either. He only took four shots in the first period, but with six and a half minutes left in the first half, the Knicks are trailing 55-28.
The Tim Thomas experiment didn’t work well the first time around – and it’s looking like it could be even worse in ’08-09. He’s 0-2 from the field, having bricked a wide open three and forcing a shot on the block. Plus, he’s got two fouls and a turnover.
Donnie Walsh made these trades at the absolute worst time. The biggest crowd of the season is here just in time to see the team looking awful.
