The Top 15 “LOL” Moments Of NBA Social Media In 2013

Social media has taken over the game — literally. If you’re not front row and center watching your favorite team play, Twitter, Instagram and Vine have you covered.

While outrageous tweets occur as an NBA athlete watches interleague competition in the luxury of their own home, some of the funniest social media instances happen when athletes showcase their human side and some of their extra-curricular activities on our newsfeeds. In light of the animated personalities of the NBA’s brightest stars, we take a look at 15 of the funniest off-court social media moments of 2013.

15. ANDRE DRUMMOND
First, Drummond gets to crumping in the middle of the street..

Later, he’s gets put in Twitter Jail after trying to answer too many fans.

14. JOHN WALL
I’m guessing he’s probably a tad bit excited about signing his new max deal.

13. CHRIS KAMAN
After a great run, Kaman turns a new page and says goodbye to the beloved beard. Look for Kaman to sport the new look in the Laker purple and gold next season.

12. KOBE BRYANT
The Mamba explains why he decided to unfollow his ex-teammate. The whole unfollowing saga is kind of comical because people perceived it as childish, but it was just KB keeping it real.

11. DINO RADJA
Who? Unless you were a diehard Celtics fan of the mid-90s, you probably aren’t fond of the Croatian Sensation. A lucky fan caught the big fella on his vacation, rocking the Speedo like a champ. Radja averaged 15 points and seven rebounds in his first NBA season.

10. DWIGHT HOWARD
Leading up to the Indecision, Dwight Howard was either in Colorado or Montana in an attempt to clear his mind and he went fishing! Too bad he didn’t stick around in L.A. — Chris Kaman could have probably taught him a thing or two about the hunting game.

9. KENDALL MARSHALL
K. Butter is enjoying a regular drive when he sees a freaking horse on the side of a strip mall. We were as shocked as you were Kendall.

8. KENT BAZEMORE
The young buck from the Golden State Warriors took his talents to the 2K Sports studios for the making of NBA 2K14. In the process, the 2K team captures his antics on the sideline, known as “Bazemoring.”

7. RUSSELL WESTBROOK
Russ taking rehab to a whole new level…

6. STEPHEN JACKSON
While Captain Jack is as real as they come and explained how good it felt to hit a fan, it was hilarious that he took his beef to the Twittersphere. LOL at the fact that he spelled Serge Ibaka‘s name as “Serg Abaka” and that he wanted someone else to relay the message to Ibaka.

Here’s how it should have went down:
@DaTrillStack5: Yo @SergeIbaka9- You ain’t about this life.

5. STEPHEN CURRY & JaVALE McGEE
McGee and Curry challenge each other to take no days off in hilarious fashion. Maybe they want to think about building a court inside of their house so that they don’t knock over any furniture.

4. RYAN ANDERSON
In maybe the most unexpected and hilarious Vine of them all, the Pelicans forward wakes up to find Darth Vader in his bed who then proceeds to beat him with his lightsaber. You can’t make this stuff up people!

3. METTA WORLD PEACE
Before taking his talents to Madison Square Garden, Metta went on a rant about being amnestied, making analogies that for the most part went way over our head. To make matters even more hysterical, Metta invited his followers to go hiking while wearing a Laker t-shirt and Knicks hat.

2. J.R. SMITH
Having his way with the ladies as usual. This was so funny that it prompted its own t-shirt to be sold.

1. SAMUEL L. JACKSON
LMAO — are you serious!? Jackson relayed his thoughts on Twitter after the Bulls upset the Heat in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Samuel L. would have copped a mean fine by the commissioner had he been an active player in the NBA. This is probably the most ridiculous tweet on the list.
