These Poor Fans Flew All The Way From Germany To Watch Kevin Durant Rest Against The Pistons

Oh, boy. This has the makings of being a truly awful international trip if this is remotely true.

Oklahoma City is taking on Detroit Tuesday evening. According to Royce Young, the Thunder are resting Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka, which makes total sense because we’re nearing the end of the season and OKC has already secured a playoff spot.

Apparently, though, somebody didn’t relay the news to these two fans, who, according to signs they made, came all the way from Germany to see Durant play. Whether that was the sole purpose of their trip or if it happened to be part of a bigger one isn’t known. Here’s hoping, based on some shred of humanity, that it’s the latter. Otherwise, this would go down as arguably the most disappointing and fiscally troubling trip ever.

Understandably, when alerted to KD’s status against the Pistons, disappointment didn’t even begin to describe their feelings.

You hope these two guys get something out of the trip — a picture, an autograph, anything to make it worthwhile to them. Yes, they’ll technically see Durant on the bench, but goodness, what a colossal disappointment if they really did travel this far for one thing, only for it to backfire like this.

Prayer up, is what we’re trying to say.
