Tyronn Lue coached his Cleveland Cavaliers to a Game 4 win on Tuesday night, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t find time to playfully tweak his best player. Lue made a remark in postgame to a reporter that referenced an earlier exchange LeBron James had with the media member after their Game 3 loss.

Lue fielded a question from Kenny Roda of 1480 WHBC in Cleveland on Tuesday night, but not before cutting the reporter off to deliver a line that got the whole media room laughing.

“Kenny, it’s funny you only show up when we lose,” Lue said. “That’s funny, man. You only ask questions when we lose.”

Lue was referencing a comment James made on Sunday night after the Cavaliers lost Game 3 against Boston. It was an odd exchange where he accused a reporter of only asking him questions when they Cavaliers lost. In fact, he used the exact same line that Lue said on Tuesday night.

Thankfully, it seemed like everyone involved in the exchange got the joke.

“I’m here,” Roda said. “Good win tonight, by the way.”

He then asked a question about limiting turnovers in the second half against Boston, to which Lue gave him a real answer.

Tuesday night was a release of tension in a lot of ways for the Cavaliers, who are now up 3-1 and have a chance to reach their third straight NBA Finals on Thursday night. Whether the Cavaliers win and guarantee four more Finals games or not, Roda will have at least three more chances to ask questions in postgame, win or lose.
