Team USA Got Bored Against China And Played ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ On The Court

The USA basketball team spent its first game at the Rio Olympics running China off of the court. The score was 91-47 after three quarters, and when you’re up by that much, you may be prone to get a little bored.

So the Americans decided that the fairest way to determine who would take a technical free throw was to play a game of rock, paper, scissors. The two players in question were DeMar DeRozan and Jimmy Butler. It was, uh, the exact opposite of intense, as the pair only played one round and let that determine a winner.

The pair tied, and DeRozan ended up taking and missing the free throw. Even if he made it, or even if another player took said free throw, it wouldn’t have mattered, because Team USA would be completely dominating China regardless.
