Vince Staples Gives NBA Stars Brutally Honest Fashion Advice

It seems like most of basketball’s biggest stars are also players in the fashion game these days. Heck, last year’s NBA All-Star Weekend even featured a player fashion show. But a big part of the fashion industry is style critique, and that’s where rapper Vince Staples comes in.

Staples recently sat down with the folks over at GQ to assess the swag of the NBA’s top players. He was honest. He was very honest. I will say, however, that a lot of his verdicts were more than fair.

Among the big names that Staples dished on: Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Kevin Love, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin and more.

Some highlights:

“Carmelo [Anthony] looks like he works on a tugboat, with that stupid-ass hat on. And those ugly-ass shoes. But I love you, bro…you’re great.”

“Jeremy Lin is trash.”

“[Kevin Love] didn’t do anything when Kelly Olynyk pulled his arm out of his socket, so he doesn’t get to be a basketball player this year.”

“Kevin Durant looks like a cool Muslim. Like, the coolest kid at the mosque.”

“Paul Pierce got stabbed in the club, man. Let’s not make fun of Paul Pierce.”

“LeBron just gotta let that hair go. Drop the top, bro.”

So many points for honesty.
