Watch No. 1 Pick Karl-Anthony Towns Show Off His Effortless 3-Point Range

Karl-Anthony Towns was the number one overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft for a good reason. Actually several good reasons, among which are his combination of size and mobility, defensive instincts, above-average post game, and perhaps most overlooked, the fact that his jump shot is quite buttery, as you’ll see from the recent workout video above that also includes some older footage of Towns knocking down long-range shots.

Towns didn’t get a chance to show off his range during his lone season at Kentucky (he was 2-of-8 for the entire season), but in the modern NBA, a big man who can stretch the floor like this is a game-changer for just about any team.

For the first time in a long time, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a bright future ahead. Not only do they boast a trio of recent number one draft picks in Towns, Andrew Wiggins, and Anthony Bennett (although the latter is suspect to say the least), they also acquired a solid young point guard in Duke’s Tyus Jones who should be a serviceable back-up behind Ricky Rubio, not to mention two of the most exciting young athletes in the NBA in Wiggins and fellow Bounce Brother Zach LaVine.

The Wolves will be must-see TV on League Pass this season and should evolve into a playoff team in the Western Conference in the very near future.
