John C. Reilly & Tilda Swinton raise a secret dwarf hooker

We Need to Talk about Kevin, from director Lynne Ramsay, stars John C. Reilly and Tilda Swinton, which is more than enough for me to say it has a “great cast,” and now it has a trailer (below). Though you wouldn’t necessarily know it from the trailer, it’s an adaptation of a Lionel Shriver novel in which Swinton’s character recounts the events that lead up to her son going on a shooting spree at his high school. From the beginning, Kevin loves his dad (of course he does! it’s John C. Reilly!), but hates his mom, which seems mean, since she’s not even playing a ginger in this one.

I was intrigued by the premise, but call me crazy, I was hoping for a slightly more nuanced portrayal than, “He hacks into her computer and covers it in evil clowns!”

Oh look, it seems to have an “evil clown” theme:

Thanks, evil clown movie, I feel like I finally understand Columbine.
