Marvel's Phase One Box Set: Me Want This Now, Please Thanks

In case anyone is paying attention to potential Christmas gift wish lists, the plans for the release of Marvel’s The Avengers on DVD and Blu Ray were released today and comic book fans can go ahead and slap on a diaper for this one. Sure, you can just purchase the film on DVD or Blu Ray on September 25, and that will probably suit your basic needs. Or you can purchase the Marvel Phase One Blu Ray Box Set for $200 and be a pig in proverbial poop. The set includes…

Marvel’s The Avengers (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
Captain America: The First Avenger (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
Thor (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
Iron Man 2 (Blu-ray)
The Incredible Hulk (Blu-ray)
Iron Man (Blu-ray)
Bonus Disc – “The Phase One Archives” (Blu-ray)

Included in the “bonus” category is the short film Item 47, which is the story of two losers who find some alien weapons after the huge battle at the end of The Avengers and they go around robbing banks with them. I can’t hate on that idea because it’s incredibly realistic. If you found a nuclear hand cannon and didn’t have a pot to piss in, you’d be knocking off armored trucks on your way to rob banks. The short film is also airing at Comic Con on Friday, so you have that to look forward to.

As you can see above, you also get your very own Tesseract cube and case, which is awesome if you ignore the fact that you’ll never take it anywhere. Also, your guests will probably think you’re a psycho when you bust it out at home, especially if you’re wearing your Loki helmet. But screw pride at this point. This is about awesome things that we don’t really need but absolutely must have.

Like these posters that also come with the box set but would never see the light of day in my home. I don’t care if I’m not planning to hang them up, I WANT THEM fancy ass Blu Ray sleeves that I WANT.
