Riff Raff says he’s suing James Franco for $10 million. Seems reasonable.

The first time I saw James Franco as “Alien” in Spring Breakers, I thought he was supposed to be Kevin Federline. Then everyone in the comments yelled at me, saying he was supposed to be Riff Raff, some guy from MTV’s From G’s to Gents. But to hear James Franco and Harmony Korine tell it, Alien was based on a Florida rapper named Dangeruss. But apparently Riff Raff wasn’t satisfied with that explanation, because he says he wants to sue James Franco for $10 million. Meanwhile, James Franco will next be appearing in a two-episode arc on The Mindy Project as a gynecologist named “Paul Leotard.”

Riff Raff — the rapper and former MTV reality star — says he’s suing the people responsible for the movie “Spring Breakers” for $8 to $10 MILLION … because he believes he was the basis for one of the characters.

“It’s like if I have a front yard. And you’re planting soil and you’re planting trees and building peaches and houses and selling parking lots on my property … then I  deserve to be compensated for some portion of that money.” [TMZ]

“And after all, is that not the dream of every red-blooded American man? To plant soil on which to build peaches and sell parking lots? Your honor, all my client wants is to wear half t-shirts and build peaches, please give him 10 million dollars, forever and ever amen.” (*hums “My Country ‘Tis of Thee”*)

Not to try to offer a rational argument to a guy named Riff Raff, but it’s worth noting that $10 million is almost a third of Spring Breakers’ entire gross. I’ve included the Riff Raff video after the jump, along with one from Dangeruss and James Franco in Spring Breakers for comparison, so you can decide for yourself. To me Alien seems as much Riff Raff as Dangeruss as Kevin Federline and probably a million other white trash rap dudes. Turns out, a white guy dressing like some minstrel show clown of hip hop culture isn’t actually that original. Who knew?
