SUPERCUT: Movie References in The Simpsons Part 2: The Golden Age

Last week, our friends at NextMovie gave us “Every Movie Reference in The Simpsons: Seasons 1-5.” It was more than 20 minutes long, and The Simpsons scholars among us were amazed, because we knew The Simpsons writers didn’t even really start to go reference crazy until later. This week, NextMovie’s back with another supercut, of Simpsons movie references in seasons 6-10. As always, it doesn’t get much better than the Halloween episodes.

“No TV and no beer make Homer something something.”

Nonetheless, I think “Time Bandits” might be my favorite Simpsons episode ever. Don’t act like you don’t have the time for this. You MAKE time.

A couple of these references seem like a stretch, but who really cares. Ahh, memories. I can’t remember watching anything BUT The Simpsons when I was in college. It’s weird to think about now, but I remember when The Simpsons came out and it was actually considered controversial. I had a teacher in elementary school who bragged about not letting her kids watch The Simpsons because Bart was such a bad example. And where do you think her kids are now? Addicted to heroin, I bet. Poor son of a bitch never had a chance.
