Two of my favorite movies of the last five years have been Animal Kingdom (directed by David Michod) and Hesher (co-written by David Michod). Which explains why I’m excited that Michod has teamed up with Megan Ellison and A24 to make The Rover, a Mad Max-esque existential western about a man on a sweaty, stinky journey through the dystopian outback to retrieve his stolen car– OH GOD I THINK I RUPTURED A BONER VEIN.
