There’s Going To Be A ‘True Romance’ Festival In Burbank This Year

Back in September, the Tony Scott classic True Romance turned 20 years old with little celebration, and it seems that there are people out there who think that’s as great of a crime as driving around with cocaine all over your face. That’s why Sean Healy and Dan Storm Productions are proud to announce that they’ll be holding a belated 20th anniversary screening of the Quentin Tarantino-penned film at the Safari Inn, the very same motel at which Patricia Arquette and James Gandolfini beat the ever-loving hell out of each other in the film.

Obviously, space for fans is limited, as a motel can only hold so many people, but this two-day festival is open to fans who would like to celebrate this incredibly wonderful film’s legacy with one of its stars – Bronson Pinchot. Sure, they could have asked Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, Christopher Walken, Tom Sizemore or Michael Rapaport, among others, but sure, Elliot Blitzer is a fine choice. (Although, I’m willing to bet Slater can take a break from Autotrader commercials to be there.)

As for the festivities, go ahead and pack your best pair of cheap gold Elvis sunglasses, because I’m sure everyone will be wearing them.

Room packages don’t go on sale until next Monday, but you can find more information about tickets and whatnot on the True Romance Fest website. If you do plan to attend, just remember that there’s a good way to introduce yourself to other fans of the film:

And there’s a bad way:

If you introduce yourself to any four alarm fires like that, you’re bound to take a corkscrew to the foot. At the very least, you’ll get one of these.
