‘2016: Obama’s America’ Director Dinesh D’Souza Pleads D’Guilty To D’Campaign Finance Violations

2016: Obama’s America
director Dinesh D’Souza may soon be filming black families fighting over Monopoly while Arab music plays IN PRISON, after pleading guilty to making illegal campaign contributions in New York. He faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison for the crimes, while the more serious charges against him have been dropped as part of the same deal. He was accused of asking friends to donate $10,000 to the campaign of Wendy Long, a Republican running against Kirsten Gillibrand, then reimbursing them, to get around limits on individual contributions. It’s not the sexiest scandal, is it? Maybe we could get him to say racist stuff to a mistress or boy toy. Work on it.

Said D’Souza’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafman:

“We are hopeful that Judge (Richard) Berman will recognize Mr. D’Souza to be a fundamentally honorable man who should not be imprisoned for what was an isolated instance of wrongdoing in an othberwise productive and responsible life.”

Riiiight, a fundamentally honest man. A fundamentally honest man who was also being sued by the producers of his next movie for using funds to promote his own book, and who had to resign as president of King’s College (aka Upstairs New York Bible College, as I like to call it) for banging one of his students. I bet he smells nice though.

While insiders say the filming of America has been more difficult because of D’Souza’s indictment, Lionsgate is expected to open it wide on schedule July 2. One piece of fallout related to the arrest, though, is that Obama’s half brother, Mark Obama Ndesandjo pulled out of an interview, with a representative writing in an email to the filmmakers: “Upon reconsideration, Mark has decided it would not be appropriate to join your project while the Federal investigation of Mr. D’Souza is ongoing.”

Luckily, an intense persecution complex is central to the appeal of this guy’s message in the first place, and in terms of using his own prosecution for finance violations as a way to promote his next movie, he’s already ahead of the game. Now, he’ll probably spend a few months in some cushy prison rooming with one of Jordan Belfort’s buddies, where he’ll really learn how to move money around illegally, and leave as some martyr for the cause of douche-dom.

The worst thing about this guy is that a documentary about all the shady shit the Obama administration has done would actually be a great thing, but not when your criticism is some hocus pocus “anti-colonialist” allegation dog whistle for racist fundies. All that does is support the status quo, but I suppose that’s the best way to make money.
